redicare mobile health

Redicare Mobile Health Service is a Maryland-based, mobile healthcare team providing quality care to patients in the privacy of their own homes and other convenient locations. From telehealth visits to house calls, Redicare goes above and beyond for the members of their community.

an introduction

Redicare was born in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Seeking ways to help her community gain access to affordable healthcare, physician assistant and founder Ashley Tolliver, PA-C, took matters into her own hands.

Ashley was referred to me by another client, Medsembly founder Rodeline Joseph, PA-C. My brief-yet-intense background in healthcare, paired with my design experience and knowledge earned from working with Medsembly and Project Purple, turned out to be a perfect match for Ashley’s needs and desires for her company.

Together, we’ve come out of the pandemic and faced major shifts. We’ve transitioned from providing mainly COVID testing and vaccinations and treating minor conditions and illnesses, to offering liquid IV services and well visits. With every new endeavor, with every new change to the world of healthcare- we’ve adapted, with new strategies and ideas to continue pushing the boundaries of Redicare as a resource.

Today, Ashley and her team bring urgent care to those in need- literally, to their doorstep (and their screens).

social media

Serving as the social media manager for Redicare Mobile Health, it’s my responsibility to create captivating and relevant posts for our social channels. Ashley’s goal was to simply spread awareness about the services they offer, share updates from the team, and share medical news.

As the world of healthcare is ever-evolving, content creation for Redicare goes in stages. Turning on Google alerts and staying up-to-date on local news is just one piece of the puzzle. As a Connecticut resident, I must also stay informed on what is going on in Maryland and the DMV area and check in with my client for company-specific updates. Because of this, I only create content for up to two weeks at a time.

Research is ongoing and nearly passive- set up for me to receive information seamlessly, from push notifications on my phone to custom alerts in my email. Ashley provides photos in a shared album, and sends business updates and content requests frequently. I stay in touch with her regularly, and encourage all of my clients to feel comfortable reaching out to me at any time. This allows them the freedom to provide information as it comes in or as they remember it, instead of sending it later out of ‘courtesy’ and possibly forgetting things. Yes, I certainly am in bed by 9pm every night. But my phone and email are in service 24/7, and ‘do not disturb’ was created for a reason. I find this ‘open door’ policy beneficial and productive.

Creation day is once a week. I sit down and compile my thoughts and notes, then jump right in. I strive to provide a mix of carousels, static posts, and videos, and use analytics from past posts to influence my process. In Redicare’s case, we found that posts featuring photos of the team and fieldwork performed the best. We lean into this, sharing as many moments as possible on our social media pages. We also experiment with different strategies on different platforms. For example, we tend to post more community content on Facebook and Instagram, versus news and updates on LinkedIn. We post stories to Instagram regularly as they often perform well, but on Facebook our stories are only seen by a handful of people- posts work better. Reviewing metrics and adapting our approach is a continuous job.

Working with Ashley on building her social presence has been a learning experience. Every company is different, even within the same industry. The vast differences between working for Medsembly and Redicare alone was incredibly enlightening for me as a recent college graduate. It highlighted the importance of research and testing, and solidified the practices I use today working with clients. Just because a strategy or post worked for one brand, does not mean it will work for another. Setting a strong base for yourself and future work can only help you- never harm you.

branding

Redicare came to me with logo, and a big part of my role is keeping their branding consistent across the board. Part of this is ensuring that new projects and products fall in line, but have a personality of their own.

One major expansion to the Redicare brand was the introduction of INVIGORATE BY REDI, a line of liquid IV treatments. This new and revolutionary service brought a new audience to Redicare, and Ashley was eager to dive in.

Having worked with Ashley on her social media efforts, and creating print materials for the business, I knew their branding inside and out. When it was time to create a logo to represent this new venture, I was eager to share my ideas.

The branding for INVIGORATE BY REDI consists of the same colors and typography as Redicare for consistency and recognition, but also stands strong alone. It conveys professionalism, yet remains friendly. It is innovative, but simple. Crisp, but not flashy or overbearing.

print design

Along with the logo for INVIGORATE, I was responsible for rolling out flyers, labels, and other miscellaneous collateral to reinforce the brand, spread awareness, and educate patients and the public.

Using Adobe InDesign, I created these simple and effective 4 inch x 6 inch IV bag labels. As IV treatments are medical procedures, there needed to be clear space for providers to fill in information, such as the patient the bag is intended for and the time the solution was mixed. The ingredients and effects were also required to be on the label, along with the name of the particular treatment. The limitations were challenging, but the results were rewarding!

In addition to these labels, I have had the pleasure of designing flyers for Redicare for the team to hand out at events and for patient education. All print projects are crafted from scratch using InDesign, with Illustrator on backup for any illustrations or graphic elements.

My process begins with a moodboard, sketches, and a document with the information I need to include. In the end, I deliver a polished, presentable, print-ready file along with a mockup of the design to provide a real-life feel.

For print projects, PDFs with crop marks and bleeds are provided for use with the print shop of their choice. I provide guidance on paper weight and finish, as well as assistance finding affordable and quality printing companies. The outcome is always stunning!
