fiore branding
Fiore is the go-to natural deodorant for the modern woman on the run.
As part of the Wildflower Design Co. ‘Brand Bootcamp,’ Fiore is a conceptual brand looking for a fresh brand identity. This branding prompt became a passion project of mine that I hope to add on to in the near future.
moodboards & research
For branding projects, I begin by creating a Pinterest board containing inspiration from color to type to layout and more. From there, I look back at what I pinned and sort them into their respective styles. Then I create moodboards for the styles I want to experiment with.
Moodboards are extremely helpful in my design process. Being able to put together an identity from a set of images and a color palette is satisfying— and the results are always beautiful!
Once I choose a moodboard, I decide on the feeling I’m going for and the color palette (if I haven’t already chosen one). I open up Illustrator, place the color palette on the artboard, and write the brand name and any taglines.
From there, I scroll through fonts, save any that stand out to me, and draw any graphic elements that I may want to include. For some graphic elements, I like to use my iPad and Procreate to draw shapes and use unique brushes. Using multiple programs expands my design potential and allows me to create exactly what a client envisions.
design
Putting together all the elements to create a brand suite is my favorite part about being a designer. Having all my options in front of me on an artboard means endless opportunities.
For Fiore, the prompt says their values are modern, fresh, feminine, and fuss-free, and their scents are ‘wild rose’, ‘eucalyptus and mint’, and, ‘peony and jasmine.’ I created an icon for each scent using the color palette I chose. While the prompt is for a brand suite, I plan to design packaging for each scent in the future.
The typefaces chosen pair well together and are both modern yet classic. I replaced the dot on the ‘i’ with a “sparkle” to add a fun element.
