connecticut wine guide & passport app redesign

The purpose of this school project was to redesign a mobile application of choice. My partner, Cheyanne, and I chose the Connecticut Wine Guide & Passport app. Our goal was to deliver an enhanced user experience for wine enthusiasts.

As an assignment for a senior-level college course, this project included in-depth competitor analysis, extensive user research, the creation of user personas, empathy maps, and wireframes, and the design and development of a mobile application using Adobe XD’s prototype features.

This redesign was a valuable experience for me, and shaped the way I conduct research when beginning a new project.

analysis & research

This project began with analyzing competitors' mobile applications to identify areas for improvement and differentiation. We created and administered a survey to 155 respondents, asking questions related to lifestyle and wine preferences. The data collected informed the creation of three user personas and an aggregated empathy map.

A new information architecture was outlined, and wireframes were devised for various screens within the app. Three initial design options were conceptualized and then condensed into a single, cohesive design guided by type and color research to ensure appeal to the target demographic, focusing on wine culture and New England's charm.
